Tokyo Chapter Holds Iftar Mahfil at Akabane Culture Center

Islamic Mission Japan's Tokyo Chapter held an Iftar Mahfil on March 1, 2026, at Bivio Hall in the Akabane Culture Center, bringing together Muslim brothers from various parts of Tokyo ahead of the start of Ramadan.
The program was attended by Central Secretary General Engineer Abdullah Al Maruf as chief guest, and former Central President and businessman Mizbaul Kabir as special guest. It was conducted by Tokyo Chapter member Kamrul Islam, with welcome remarks delivered by Hafez Maulana Abu Hamid Mohammad Ashiqullah, Imam of the proposed Tokyo Central Mosque, and Tokyo Chapter Secretary General Mehedi Hasan Mahfuz, a PhD researcher. Anwar Hossain and Nesar Uddin Masud also spoke.
Speakers reflected on the importance and significance of Ramadan and expressed deep condolences on the passing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei. Discussions also addressed the need for unity among the global Muslim ummah, warning that without it Muslims would continue to face oppression amid mounting pressure on Muslim-majority countries from world powers.
The program concluded with dua and munajat followed by the Iftar meal.
