Fukuoka Eid Reunion Explores the Meaning of Qurbani in Islam

The Greater Fukuoka Bangladesh Community organized an Eid reunion and religious discourse session on the teachings of Qurbani (sacrifice) in Islam at Fukuoka Mosque on June 7. Bangladeshi Muslims from various professions in the community attended, with discussions centered on the significance of Eid al-Adha, Islamic teachings, and social responsibility.

The session was chaired by Muhammad Zahurul Haque, a community leader of the Greater Fukuoka Bangladesh Community. Hafez Saber Ahmed, central president of Islamic Mission Japan, attended as chief guest, while Dr. Muhammad Awad, khatib of Fukuoka Mosque, was present as special guest.

Speakers highlighted the lessons of sacrifice, piety, obedience, and submission to Allah drawn from the story of Prophets Ibrahim and Ismail, emphasizing that Qurbani is not merely about animal sacrifice. They also urged Muslims living abroad to reflect Islamic values in daily life, follow Japanese laws, maintain social discipline, and act as responsible citizens, while stressing the rights of neighbors and good conduct in Japan's multicultural society.

The program concluded with a special prayer led by Hafez Saber Ahmed for the souls of community members' parents who had recently passed away, followed by a dinner and an exchange of greetings among the attendees.
