Grand Final of International Qur'an Recitation and Hifz Competition 2026 Held in Japan
The grand final of the International Qur'an Recitation and Hifz Competition 2026 was held on Sunday, 30 August, at Baitul Aman Masjid Complex in Japan, organized by the Islamic Cultural Foundation Japan, a registered da'wah and social welfare body. The event brought together finalists selected through regional rounds held across the country over the preceding weeks.
Winners in each group received cash prizes and crests, with first place awarded ¥30,000, second ¥20,000, and third ¥10,000. Participants placed fourth through tenth received ¥1,000 each along with a crest, and every finalist was presented with a medal and certificate in recognition of their participation.
The program included a prize-giving ceremony and an Islamic speech delivered by invited scholars. Ambassadors from several Muslim-majority countries, prominent Islamic scholars based in Japan, imams, and other distinguished guests attended as special guests of the competition.
Organizers said the competition aims to nurture a love of Qur'anic recitation and memorization among the next generation of Muslims in Japan.
