Fukuoka Chapter Holds Religious Talk on Preparing for Ramadan Abroad

He explained the meanings of "Ramadan" and "Sawm," saying the fast is ultimately meant to restrain believers from falsehood and wrongdoing, and urged the congregation to observe Japanese law, respect local society, and uphold the reputation of Muslims and Bangladeshis during the month. Imam Dr. Awad spoke about the merits of the first night of Ramadan, while Fukuoka chapter president Mahbub Ilahi, chairing the session, called Ramadan a month of self-purification and asked worshippers to ensure mosque Iftar activities do not disturb neighbours, and to avoid loitering or smoking outside the masjid.
