International Qur'an Recitation and Hifz Competition Held in Akabane
Islamic Mission Japan, Tokyo chapter's Akabane unit held the International Qur'an Recitation and Hifz Competition 2026 on Saturday, August 15, at Akabane Culture Center (Vibio Hall), in Kita City, Tokyo. The event began at 3:30 PM and brought together participants for recitation and memorization of the Qur'an.
Registration for the competition was managed online through a Google Form, allowing participants to sign up ahead of the event. The Akabane venue served as the gathering point for this year's Otsuka-area edition of the competition.
Competitions of this kind are held periodically by the organisation to encourage the study and memorization of the Qur'an among community members, particularly children and young people, and to recognize outstanding participants for their efforts.
