Maulana Abdullah Kamal, Khatib of Baitul Mukarram Masjid in New York, has issued a message directed at Bangladeshi Muslim parents raising children in Japan, highlighting concerns about the younger generation's connection to Islamic practice and heritage.

In his message, shared through Islamic Mission Japan and Baitul Aman Academy Japan, Maulana Kamal pointed to signs that children growing up abroad are showing less awareness of halal and haram, declining interest in prayer, Qur'an learning, and other Islamic practices, and weakening ties to family and cultural roots.

He quoted a hadith in which the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that when a person dies, their deeds cease except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, and a righteous child who prays for them. Maulana Kamal urged parents to reflect on whether they are giving their children a proper religious education, framing it as a lasting legacy for the next generation.
